Readings & Talks

As a visiting author, I offer dynamic presentations, stimulating discussions, and interactive, experiential activities for groups. I work with audiences of any size, from small seminars or classes to large public gatherings. I specialize in readings, keynotes, public lectures, and campus visits.

Content is drawn from my scholarly and creative work and formatted to meet your particular needs. Recent topics include: John Burroughs’ vision of local nature, alien species, practicing wildness in the city, natural religion, writing as a window into nature, and the counter-pastoral impulse in American literature.

My base rates reflect time, distance, and format. Please call or email so that we can discuss your needs and negotiate a final rate compatible with your organization’s size, budget, and mission.
